What you should know before starting an NY acting career.
An actor needs to be one before becoming one. You might found that weird but it's true. For sure not any actor followed the same path but let us analyze some stats on the industry:
According to stats found on the net about the year 2004, in May, the average hourly rate earned by NY actors was $11,28. The highest ten percent gained less than $6.23 when the highest ten percent got more than $56,48. This includes the data collected from the motion picture and video industries as well as performing arts companies. Not often an actor will have a garanteed employment exceeding six months.
The competition for acting acting jobs is stiff. High trained and talented NY actors exceeds the ammount of available acting jobs in the acting industry.
